Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge

Saturday 1, August 2009

Mike and I decide at a last minute last Saturday to go birding at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and it was a sight for sore eyes. We saw fields of Black-eyed Susans throughout the drive tour, as well as a lot more of some new wild flowers we haven’t seen before all this everywhere we turned. But enjoy this photo series of what we took.

Black-eyed Susan Common Mullein Smooth Goldenrod similar to Canada Goldenrod.
Unknown plant we had spotted, is now known it is a Smooth Solomon's Seal.

UPDATE: Lynne of Hasty Brook has identified the last image as a Smooth Solomon's Seal.

Not positive but I think the last one is a Smooth Solomon's Seal.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you both.

Looks like a neat place for a photographic outing and not that far from the Twin Cities. I can't believe I've never been there!

Thanks Troutbirder, Lizette found it in a birderslocation map that we found at Barnes & Noble.
